Length measures in use for trade – Consultation
A consultation is open in relation to length measures that are in use for trade.
Trading Standards wish to advise that a public consultation is open in relation to proposed changes to our policy around measures of length.
We are proposing for the introduction of a general certificate of approval, which would cover most measures of length that are in use for trade. These changes may affect the following groups of people:
- Consumers who buy goods by reference to length
- Businesses who manufacture, import, and/or sell measures of length, and
- Retailers who sell non-prepackaged goods by reference to length.
