Policy
The capacity of a Working Standard volume measure required to be used for the verification and inspection testing of liquid measuring instruments.
Table 1
Instrument category | Maximum flowrate | Capacity of volume measure |
---|---|---|
(Maximum flowrate means maximum achievable flowrate) | (for testing at maximum flowrate) | |
Fixed fuel dispensers, e.g. driveway flowmeters and truck stops | Less than or equal to 60 L/min |
Whichever is greater:
|
Greater than 60 L/min | A volume measure suitable to hold a product delivered for at least 1 minute at maximum achievable flowrate. |
Table 2
Instrument category | Maximum approved flowrate | Capacity of volume measure |
---|---|---|
(Maximum flowrate as detailed on the approval certificate) | (for testing at maximum flowrate) | |
Liquid measuring instruments, e.g. meters on delivery vehicles (tankers) bulk flowmetering system, milk measuring systems, adblue dispenser etc. | Less than or equal to 60 L/min |
Whichever is greater:
|
Greater than 60 L/min | A volume measure suitable to hold the product delivered for at least 1 minute at maximum approved flowrate (Qmax); plus an allowance for ramp up and ramp down volume. |
